Abstract The Aggie Haylofters, a campus square dancing club, was organized by Colorado A & M College (now Colorado State University) students in early 1947. The Haylofters enjoyed great popularity during the 1940s through the 1970s. Weekly dances were held on campus as well as a yearly weekend square dance festival.
