As a hydro-mechanical engineer, B. T. A. Sagar (1929-2017) specialized in gates and valves for irrigation and hydropower projects around the world. The collection includes representative projects from across Dr. Sagar's career and a variety of countries in which he worked. The bulk of the collection is documentation for engineering projects where Dr. Sagar either designed, advised, or reviewed the gates and/or valves involved, along with his papers, publications, and presentations.

Jim Ruff (b. 1937) had a long career as a civil engineering professor at Colorado State University and as a consultant with a focus on hydraulic engineering. The collection documents Dr. Ruff's teaching, research, consulting work, and publications. The collection includes reports, articles, letters, drawings, maps, newspaper clippings, reference materials, data, slides, photographs, videotapes, and computer media.

Margaret A. Johnston worked in a variety of roles (including interpretation, law enforcement, and as a superintendent) for the National Park Service (NPS) from 1974 until her 2007 retirement. Her work broke many barriers for females in the Park Service. The bulk of the collection consists of items highlighting Johnston's NPS career. Additional materials include Johnston's personal writings, a biography written by her husband, and memorabilia.

Paul Opler is a semi-retired professor of entomology in the Agricultural Biology department at Colorado State University (CSU). He is also the assistant director of the C.P. Gillette Museum of Arthropod Diversity on campus. Opler has authored over 200 books and papers on Lepidoptera. Materials include publications, drafts, galleys, logs, and audiovisual materials.
