Abstract In the spring of 1912, George F. Morton, head of the animal husbandry department, gathered junior and senior student members together to organize the CAC (Colorado Agricultural College) Livestock Club. The organization was pivotal in the founding of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) and sponsored events such as the Skyline Stampede Rodeo and the Little National Western Livestock Show. Abstract

Extra-curricular student activities on the campus of Colorado State University first began in November 1879 with the establishment of the Philosophian Literary Society. The Records of Student Activities documents various groups and activities pertaining to student life at CSU, including social clubs, fraternities and sororities, and academic clubs. Materials include constitutions and bylaws, membership information, correspondence, and photographs.

Records of the Aggie Haylofters Club

Abstract The Aggie Haylofters, a campus square dancing club, was organized by Colorado A & M College (now Colorado State University) students in early 1947. The Haylofters enjoyed great popularity during the 1940s through the 1970s. Weekly dances were held on campus as well as a yearly weekend square dance festival. The Rocky Mountain Collegian is the student newspaper for Colorado State University and is the oldest continuously existing college student publication in Colorado.
