The Rocky Mountain Collegian Negatives consists of materials dated 1980 to 1983. The collection contains negatives and proof sheets taken by Tim O'Hara when he was a staff photographer for the Collegian. Photographs are of students and faculty on campus as well as various campus events and activities, including student meetings, athletics, student dances, concerts, intramurals, parades, and university celebrations.

The Rocky Mountain Collegian was first published in December 1891 at Colorado Agricultural College (now Colorado State University0 with Albert J. Sedgewick as the first editor. Monetary support for the Collegian is provided by student registration fees and advertising revenue, and the paper employs students in writing of articles, reporting, photography, typesetting, design, and management. The Collegian is the oldest continuously existing college student publication in Colorado.
