Abstract

Charles Lummis (1859-1928) was an author, photographer, ethnographer, archaeologist, and librarian. Gaining fame for walking from Ohio to California in the 1880s, Lummis spent much of his life documenting and protecting the lives and activities of the people of the Southwest United States. The collection contains letters, photographs, publications, music, and newspaper clippings.

Paul Opler is a semi-retired professor of entomology in the Agricultural Biology department at Colorado State University (CSU). He is also the assistant director of the C.P. Gillette Museum of Arthropod Diversity on campus. Opler has authored over 200 books and papers on Lepidoptera. Materials include publications, drafts, galleys, logs, and audiovisual materials.

The Records of the American Indian ABE Teacher and Teacher Aide Training Project document the federally grant-funded initiative at Colorado State University to provide basic adult education to Native American populations, primarily the Apsalooke (Pryor Crow/Crow), Nuuchu/Nuu-ciu (Ute), and the Niitstitapi (Blackfoot) tribes, in the 1970s.
