Scope and Contents
The Photographs of Bill Green, spanning 1992 through 2011, consists of 25 digital photographs of reservoirs and streams across Colorado during the 2002 drought, as well as nearly 1,500 slides of water features, parks, and wildlife, mostly in Colorado but also in most of the other western states. The drought photographs visually document this extreme event in a way that words and data cannot. The slides capture the beauty and variety of the western landscape.

Biography
Bill Green is a water resources engineer, economist, and planner. He worked for the Colorado Water Conservation Board for fifteen years and more recently as a consulting engineer.
Green is a native of South Dakota who moved to Colorado in 1964. He has a bachelors degree in economics from South Dakota State University and a masters in civil engineering from the University of Colorado.
Green is an experienced outdoor photographer with a specialty in water supply in the Western United States. His photographs have been published in a number of magazines and brochures. In 2002, during one of the most severe droughts in Colorado, he photographed streams and reservoirs across the state; the photography project was sponsored by the Denver office of HDR Engineering.

Abstract
Bill Green, a water resources engineer and outdoor photographer, photographs reservoirs, streams, and natural areas in the western United States. The collection consists of 25 digital photographs of the 2002 Colorado drought, as well as nearly 1,500 slides of water features, parks, and wildlife, mostly in Colorado but also in other western states. A portion of the collection is digitized and online.

Acquisition
The Photographs of Bill Green was donated to the Water Resources Archive by Mr. Green in December 2009. He donated the slides in January 2012.

Processing
The digital photographs were donated on a DVD, which was rehoused in archival storage. All files are backed up on a server. The slides, a later donation, were also rehoused in archival materials.
