Biography

Michael Wireman, a retired hydrogeologist, focused on groundwater science, development, and management. He studied at Western Michigan University to earn his bachelor's in geology (1976) and master's in hydrogeology (1987). Wireman worked at Leonard Rice Consulting Water Engineers from 1981 to 1986 and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region VIII, in Denver from 1987 to 2014. Throughout his career he worked abroad in countries like Russia, Iraq, China, Romania, Estonia, and Ukraine. He was also an adjunct professor at Metropolitan State University in Denver where he taught a course on Contaminant Hydrology and created workshops for the National Ground Water Association, the Geological Society of America, and the International Association of Hydrogeologists.

Wireman retired in 2014 but is still active in consulting.
