In the early 1980s, Wright Water worked for defendants Stahmann Farms and the State of New Mexico in relation to El Paso (Texas) v. Reynolds, No. 80-730 HB (often referred to in these files as El Paso v. New Mexico; Reynolds was the state engineer). Stahmann Farms operated the world's largest irrigated pecan orchard in southern New Mexico. At issue were potential depletions of the Rio Grande system, including the Hueco-Mesilla Bolson Aquifer, by El Paso's proposed groundwater pumping as well...
