Scope and Contents From the Series: This series consists of files compiled by Opler. Butterfly and moth observation notes, counts, and surveys are included as are photocopies of species plates. Reports and conference proceedings regarding endangered and threatened species, including other insects, are also included. Files also consist of articles, correspondence, notes, as well as case exhibits from the United States vs. Thomas Kral suit (Thomas Kral was accused and found guilty of lepidoptera poaching). Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series:

This subseries contains Opler's master's thesis draft and final copy. Some correspondence exists in the Status and Trends of California Biological Resources file, and a bibliography with some of his publications is also included. There is no intellectual arrangement, and the subseries maintains its original order within each box.
