Records of the Office of University Advancement
Abstract
The Division of University Advancement is integral to achieving and sustaining the University’s institutional excellence through fundraising and engagement efforts. Their purpose is to connect alumni, friends, corporations, and foundations to raise the financial support necessary to advance Colorado State University’s mission and vision. Funds generated go towards creating access and opportunity for our students, faculty, and staff to implement change at a local and global level. Recently University Advancement successfully complete a $1 billion campaign goal 19 months ahead of schedule. This included over $220 million dollars raised for university capital projects, $184 million for CSU student scholarships, and millions more for research.
The Records of the Office of University Advancement, dated 1989 to 2020, consists of documents and programs related to the 1870s dinner, an annual event that honors members of Colorado State University's 1870 Club. A banner celebrating CSU's sesquicentennail signed by many individuals related to CSU is also present as is a Wheaties cereal box commemorating the athletic achievement of Amy Van Dyken, Olympic gold medalist swimmer and alum of Colorado State University.
