History

The Colorado Emeriti Association was formed on May 17, 1957, in Denver, Colorado. The association was established to promote the economic, social, and professional interests of retired faculty of Colorado's colleges and universities. Membership was extended to all retired faculty and staff, who served in academic positions in any institution of higher education in Colorado. The association lobbied for state legislation that served to protect and benefit its members. The Colorado State Emeriti Association was dissolved on May 10, 1980.

Abstract

The Colorado Emeriti Association was founded in 1957 and was open to any retired faculty from the state of Colorado. Many of their members came from Colorado State University, the University of Colorado, the University of Northern Colorado, the University of Denver, and the Colorado School of Mines. Materials include letters, membership lists, reports, and a copy of the group's constitution.
