The Colorado Emeriti Association was formed on May 17, 1957, in Denver, Colorado. The association was established to promote the economic, social, and professional interests of retired faculty of Colorado's colleges and universities. Membership was extended to all retired faculty and staff, who served in academic positions in any institution of higher education in Colorado. The association lobbied for state legislation that served to protect and benefit its members. The Colorado State Emeriti Association was dissolved on May 10, 1980.
