Biography

Leslie L. Gibbons was an alumnus, professor, and department head of Industrial Arts at Colorado State University. He was the first recipient of the Distinguished Service Award given by the Colorado State Faculty in 1955 and was named to the Colorado Vocational Education Hall of Fame.

Leslie Gibbons was born in 1907 in Michigan. When he was 10 years old his family moved to Lamar, Colorado. Gibbons earned his B.S. and M.S. from Colorado A & M (CAM; now Colorado State University). After graduation he taught vocational agriculture, was a school principal, superintendent, and taught pre-flight training to high school students during World War II. Gibbons joined the faculty of CAM in 1949 as a professor of industrial arts.
