Scope and Contents

The Miscellany of Colorado State University Collection consists of items dated 1885 to 2019, with the bulk falling from the 1960s through 2000s. Materials include collegiate and departmental publications, newspaper clippings, photographs, sound recordings, oral history tapes, awards, and other ephemera. Most items were donated and added to the collection one at a time; such accruals continue.

The Miscellany of Colorado State University Collection contains publications, recordings, oral histories, photographs, and other ephemera created by or for the university, and its students, faculty, and staff.

Arrangement

The collection consists of 5 series in 6 record cartons, 4 document cases, 3 flat boxes, 2 artifact boxes, 6 oversize folders, and 1 flat file:

Series 1: Sound and video recordings, 1954-2014 and undated

Series 2: Artifacts, 1892-2020 and undated

Series 3: Photographs and slides, 1892-2012 and undated

Series 4: Faculty, staff and students, 1885-2019 and undated

Series 5: Campus and departmental information, 1900s-2000s and undated

Acquisition

The Miscellany of Colorado State University Collection was created by Archives and Special Collections staff and contains donations from various individuals. All materials from a number of small University Archive collections were transferred to Series 4 and 5 of this collection in November 2019, including Barton O. Aylesworth, C. Frank Brockman, Esther Abell Denton, Peter Glasgow, Department of History, Home Economics College, Charles Lee Ingersoll, Pauline Lough, Helen White Rigden, and Student Health Services. Accruals to the collection are ongoing.

Some materials have been scanned and are available through the Colorado State University Libraries website. In the electronic version of this document, direct links appear in context.

Processing

Processing was completed in September 2015. Materials were rehoused in acid-free folders and boxes.
