This series consists of files compiled by Opler. Butterfly and moth observation notes, counts, and surveys are included as are photocopies of species plates. Reports and conference proceedings regarding endangered and threatened species, including other insects, are also included. Files also consist of articles, correspondence, notes, as well as case exhibits from the United States vs. Thomas Kral suit (Thomas Kral was accused and found guilty of lepidoptera poaching). Notes written by Richard Holland, Opler's colleague, are present in a file with publications regarding lepidoptera. Some materials have been printed from various web sites. There is no arrangement to the series.
