Water resource potentials of East Pakistan, vol. I-III, 1972
Scope and Contents
This subseries consists of files that relate to Simons' research or consulting projects. For a given project, the files often go from start to finish, including the proposal, financial papers, correspondence, drafts (interim/progress reports), and the final reports. The projects best represented here concern the Mississippi River and Pakistan/Bangladesh (at the time, called East and West Pakistan). Other geographically grouped files include the Connecticut River, the Chippewa River (Wisconsin), and Nepal (the latter being found under both Arun and Nepal). Groups of subject-based or contractor-based files include flood protection at bridges, the Rocky Mountain Forest and Range Experiment Station, Stone and Webster, and THEMIS, a Department of Defense-funded program that involved research in Brazil and Venezuela. Several individual files are included, including one on the report Simons did for the National Academy of Science on the 1976 flood of the Big Thompson River (Colorado). Reports or publications that were found with the research files were retained with them. Master printing copies were discarded if a printed copy existed. Material types include correspondence, reports, proposals, maps, charts, data, publications, brochures, clippings, drawings, financial documents, and more (supporting documentation). The files are arranged alphabetically by project name.
