Consulting and other professional activities, 1949-1993
Scope and Contents
Nixon worked for several other organizations besides SECWCD and Colorado Springs Utilities during his career, sometimes as a city utilities employee and other times as a consultant or board member. This subseries gathers together materials from these other positions. Letters and brochures related to Nixon's work as head of utilities at Trinidad, Colorado, from 1949 to 1954 highlight his early career. This subseries also includes contracts, plans, and other documents from Nixon's consulting work for Security Water District from the 1970s into the 1990s. A few folders document Nixon's appointment to the Colorado Ground Water Commission and his work as a Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA) board member. Materials include publications, letters, notes, plans, contracts, and certificates arranged alphabetically by category and folder title.
