Identifier: Subseries 6.2

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

W. R. "Reg" Keirnes served as secretary-manager for 21 years with an additional nine years as secretary, for a total term of service from 1955 to 1984. This subseries contains his files, which are divided into three categories, General, Facilities, and Development, and arranged alphabetically by title therein. The General category contains files having to do with court cases, the 1976 flood, legal issues, and general operations. The Facilities category documents the ditches, dams, and reservoirs that comprise the company's system. It also contains a large section documenting the Home Supply Watershed Project, which began in the 1950s and stretched into the 1970s and constituted a major system rehabilitation. These files are arranged by document type and by order of project progression. Finally, the Development category documents the beginnings of urban encroachment into agricultural areas in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Document types include correspondence, plans, reports, maps, contracts, deeds, and briefs. The Development category contains many files with folded oversize plans and drawings.
