Materials in this subseries cover Tom Sutherland’s post-captivity speaking engagements primarily contracted through the Washington Speakers Bureau. Jean Sutherland does appear with Tom at some events. Tom spoke to schools; colleges and universities; local, national, and international organizations; and businesses. Materials are predominately correspondence and notes between Sutherland and event coordinators, financial information tracked for reimbursement, and informational and promotional materials provided by the organizations that hosted Tom. Because much of the event coordination occurred via fax, folded faxes are prevalent. Kit Sutherland served as Tom’s secretary and compiled most of the materials. Folders are arranged chronologically.
