Barry wrote and published more articles in his early career than in his later years. Much of his early professional writing concerns mining and energy, while the later articles relate to water. One article relates to Barry's experience in the Marshall Islands, and one set of folders includes law school papers and legal memoranda from his first jobs. Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: This subseries documents Barry's various postions with the Colorado Department of Natural Resources (DNR). He was the director of the Mined Land Reclamation Division from 1978 to 1980. From 1980 to 1985, he served as either deputy or acting director of DNR. After working at a law firm for a few years (see Subseries 1.5), Barry returned to DNR as the executive director from December 1987 through 1990.
