The Records of the Registrar's Office consists of documents dated 1896 to 1990, with the bulk falling from 1970 to 1987. Materials include meeting minutes of councils and committees responsible for degrees and registration as well as Registrar's Office policies and procedures.

The Registrar's Office at Colorado State University was officially established in 1933 when a Code of Operations was approved by the Board Executive Committee and president Charles Lory. The duties of the Registrar's Office have been exercised since the inception of the University in 1879 and include maintaining all students' official records, processing transcripts, verifying enrollment, course scheduling and registration, processing class lists, assigning classrooms, reviewing graduation applications, and issuing diplomas.

The collection contains procedures and policies of the Registrar's Office, and meeting notes and minutes for the Graduate Council, Executive Committee, and Committee on Advanced Degrees.

The Records of the Registrar's Office was transferred by various staff of the Registrar's Office from 1986 to 2015.


Processing was completed in January 2016. Materials were rehoused in acid-free boxes and folders. Materials protected by FERPA regulations were removed.
