Abstract
Frances Lechleitner was a member of the faculty in the Department of Zoology from 1967 to 1989 when she retired as Emerita Professor. She specialized in the study of termite biology.
Frances Weesner Lechleitner was born on March 26, 1922. She received her bachelors and masters degrees from the University of California, Berkeley in 1947 and 1948. In 1985, Lechleitner was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree from CSU in recognition of her research, publication, and teaching abilities.
Lechleitner married married Robert Richard Lechleitnern on March 29, 1956 and moved to Fort Collins where Robert joined the faculty of the Department of Zoology and Entomology. Robert Lechleitner died in 1969 and Frances Lechleitner died on January 24, 2002.
The Papers of Frances Lechleitner consists of papers, including data sheets, flight reports, site reports, and a termite collection catalog. Index cards, floppy disks, and some computer equipment are also present.
