Papers of Robert G. Dunbar
Abstract
The author of numerous scholarly publications on western agricultural and water resources history, Robert G. Dunbar (1907-1993) earned his Ph.D in history from the University of Wisconsin in 1935. He held history faculty positions at the University of South Dakota (1935-37), the Colorado State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (1937-1947), and Montana State University (1947-72). Dunbar was a colleague and friend of Charles A. Lory (1872-1962), who served as president of Colorado's land-grant college from 1908 to 1940. This collection includes Dunbar's correspondence with Lory and others, handwritten notes of interviews with eastern Colorado farmers in the early 1940s, drafts of his papers on eastern Colorado, newspaper clippings, and a photograph.
