Jim Benedict Collection
Abstract
James M. "Jim" Benedict began working for the NPS in 1973 as a research biologist in Yosemite National Park. His career with the National Park Service also took him to Grand Teton National Park, Voyageurs National Park, Denali National Park and Preserve, Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and Virgin Islands National Park. He prepared planning documents and co-authored publications on fire behavior and prescriptions, backcountry management, and vegetation mapping. This collection includes management plans, publications about National Park Service policies and personnel, memorabilia, a poster, and a plaque.
