A 21-member committee made up of 15 academic faculty and 6 academic-professionals was tasked with reviewing present statutes and the historical development of faculty governance at CSU, reviewing the current literature on faculty governance in higher education, surveying the current structure of faculty governance at other universities, gathering input from appropriate groups on-and off-campus, and preparing and conducting ratification of documents for any modifications in the faculty governance structure. The first meeting of the committee was on June 23, 1975. Originally charged with completing the work within one year, the committee's final recommendations were reported in mid-1977.
