Scope and Contents
The Collection of Genealogical Research on Germans from Russia in Northern Colorado consists of documents dated 1900 to 2013, with the bulk falling from 1970 to 1999. The collection consists of obituaries and other genealogical information on Germans from Russia who settled in Larimer, Weld, Morgan, and Logan counties in northeastern Colorado, various counties in Nebraska and Kansas, and the Portland, Oregon area.
The bulk of the materials consists of copied or clipped obituaries pasted to index cards and filed alphabetically by last name. These cards are an extensive record of Russian German immigrants in Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oregon. There are also photocopies of Colorado church records from churches historically founded by Russian Germans, as well as photocopies and printouts of census records, family histories, passenger lists, obituaries, birth, death, and marriage records, and regional histories on areas of Russia settled by Germans.

Biography
Elizabeth Hayes is a descendant of the Kahler's, Germans who settled in Norka, Russia, and later immigrated to Colorado. She is a member of the American Society of Germans from Russia, Denver metro chapter, and the First Congregational Church of Loveland.

Acquisition
The Collection of Genealogical Research on Germans from Russia in Northern Colorado was donated by Elizabeth Hayes in November 2014.
Separated Collections
Most published materials by the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR) were removed from the collection and added to Special Collections.
Processing
Processing was completed in January 2015. Materials were rehoused in acid-free folders and boxes, and duplicate copies and publications were weeded.
