Abstract

Miriam Augusta Palmer (1878-1977) served as a scientific illustrator at the experiment station of the Colorado Agricultural College from 1904 to 1928, and as a faculty member in the Department of Entomology and Zoology from 1918 to 1947. In addition to detailed drawings and colorful paintings of insects, Palmer created watercolor art and exquisite wax replicas of many varieties of Colorado apples and other fruit. The drawings, paintings, and wax fruit replicas make up the bulk of this collection. Also included are two of Palmer's field notebooks, which contain notes and sketches of insects. Items that have been digitized are available in Mountain Scholar, CSU's digital repository.
