Scope and Contents
The Records of the Associated Students of Colorado State University consists of documents dated 1944 to 2018, with the bulk falling from 1960 to 2017. The collection contains Senate hearing bills and resolutions, agendas and minutes, as well as student fee review documents. The collection also contains budget requests by student organizations to ASCSU, bills for the Association, job descriptions, advertisements and announcements pertaining to ASCSU, end of year reports, and student course surveys. The Long Bill (House Bill 16-1405 which determines appropriations to higher education as well as other state departments) budget requests are included as well. Eighty-two 3.5-inch floppy disks of ASCSU records, including Senate reports, elections, fees, and funding, are also in the collection.

History
The Associated Students of Colorado State University (ASCSU) organization was established in 1916 as the Associated Students of Colorado Agricultural College. Its purpose was to regulate the spending of student organizations through student self-governance. ASCSU continues as the elected voice of CSU students, advocating for them at campus, local, and state levels. Affordable textbooks and clean-energy options in campus residence halls are among the issues addressed by ASCSU, which also currently oversees the allocation of over $54 million in student fees. ASCSU serves students through programs such as RamRide, student course surveys, and the Collegiate Readership Program as well.

Abstract
The Associated Students of Colorado State University (ASCSU) organization was established in 1916 as the Associated Students of Colorado Agricultural College. Its purpose was to regulate the spending of student organizations through student self-governance. ASCSU continues to operate as the elected voice of CSU students, advocating for them at campus, local, and state levels. The collection contains Senate hearing bills and resolutions, agendas and minutes, end of year reports, as well as student fee review documents. Arrangement
The collection has been kept in its original order when possible; however, in Series 1, the Senate bills and resolutions have been arranged chronologically. The accrual to the collection arrived in a disordered state and appears alphabetically as well as chronologically at the end of Subseries 1.3.

Acquisition
The Records of the Associated Students of Colorado State University was acquired by the University Archive in July 2015 from the Associated Students of Colorado State University. An accrual was acquired in August 2018 from the Associated Students of Colorado State University.
Processing
Processing was completed June 2016 and the accrual was processed in April 2019. The records were refoldered into acid-free folders. Paper clips and staples were removed if the condition of the clip or staple warranted. Rubber bands and blank or unrelated papers were removed from the collection as were duplicate volumes and papers. Materials in binders remain in the binders.
