History

The Associated Students of Colorado State University (ASCSU) organization was established in 1916 as the Associated Students of Colorado Agricultural College. Its purpose was to regulate the spending of student organizations through student self-governance. ASCSU continues as the elected voice of CSU students, advocating for them at campus, local, and state levels. Affordable textbooks and clean-energy options in campus residence halls are among the issues addressed by ASCSU, which also currently oversees the allocation of over $54 million in student fees. ASCSU serves students through programs such as RamRide, student course surveys, and the Collegiate Readership Program as well.
