James P. Johnson represented Colorado's Fourth District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1972 to 1980 as a member of the Republican party. He served on the Agriculture and Interior Committees and was one of thirteen members of Congress chosen to investigate the Central Intelligence Agency in 1975.
