SWSI - Water Efficiency, 2005-2006

The Papers of Harold G. Evans consists of documents dated 2001 to 2015. The collection pertains to Evans' service on water-related committees, mainly the South Platte Basin Roundtable. Other groups represented here are the Owens-Hoppe-Salazar South Platte Committee, SWSI (Statewide Water Supply Initiative), and Governor Ritter's South Platte River Task Force. The South Platte Basin Roundtable files include some documentation on other roundtables as well as the Interbasin Compact Committee and the Colorado Water Conservation Board. Evans frequently took copious notes on documents, leaving a record of his thoughts, in addition to formally written documents or presentations by him. Beyond the meetings themselves, the files document water conservation strategies, urban and agricultural water issues, groundwater challenges, and recreational and environmental concerns. Materials include correspondence, meeting minutes and notes, implementation plans, reports, clippings, and draft legislation.
