This series contains files documenting Longenbaugh's active involvement in groundwater education, legislation, and regulations. He participated in many groundwater or other professional organizations whether a working professional, interested citizen, or retired expert, often focused on education. At times, he served on committees. He also gave many presentations and workshops, some during his years at CSU or the State Engineer's Office, but also into his retirement years. The main organizations represented here are the American Ground Water Trust, the Colorado Board of Examiners of Water Well Construction and Pump Installation Contractors, the Colorado Ground Water Commission, and the National Ground Water Association. In addition to organization files, there are also files related to legislation, presentations, and workshops. These latter two have distinct sections amidst the alphabetical arrangement of the series. The presentations section includes a number of outlines, PowerPoint slides, and written presentations Longenbaugh gave at a number of different venues. They are organized alphabetically either by presentation title or name of the group or conference. These are followed by his files he used to prepare presentations and then a set of transparencies he used. These files often contain notes or reference materials as well. The workshops section is arranged in rough chronological order, tracing the workshops he gave or participated in from the 1970s into the 2000s. Many of these relate to various aspects of pumps and wells. Files include Longenbaugh's planning materials as well as packets of workshop handouts.
