Journals, 1846-1881

This series consists of six journals Edwards wrote throughout his life. Four of them were written during the years he attended Asbury University in Indiana. He created the final two during his time as Colorado State University's president. The journals contain many ink and pencil sketches among the text. Sketches and text provide a unique perspective on life in the nineteenth century and his educational philosophy. Edwards placed clippings, correspondence, and ephemera between many pages of the journals. Journals are arranged chronologically.
