Field trip (Thad McLaughlin, USGS), c. 1948
Scope and Contents
This series consists of photographic slides of wells, mountains, soil, and groups of people from the western U. S. It represents only a sample of the hundreds of slides taken over the course of Johnson's career. Several groupings from 1948 relate to hydrology-focused field trips and field work conducted in Wyoming and Colorado, and they are labeled "Thad McLaughlin, USGS." Most other slides show groundwater studies Johnson conducted in California in the 1950s as part of the Lompoc Project. Unorganized slides were rearranged into their original categories and placed in folders, organized alphabetically.
