 File — Box: 4, Folder: 6
Identifier: Series 2

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series consists of Wiltzius' notes and files collected while researching early fish culture in Colorado. Wiltzius' 1985 report and his biography are found at the beginning of the series. The rest of the series is organized into three categories, Foldered Internet printouts, Loose Internet printouts, and Notes and research files. The Foldered Internet printouts category maintains Wiltzius' original order for folders of screen captures compiled primarily from Google Books, Ancestry.com, Wikipedia, and academic library catalogs on topics such as fish species, hatcheries, geographic locations, and people involved in fish culture. Several listed folders were removed before donation. The Loose Internet printouts category, arranged alphabetically by folder title, is similar to the first category, but the archivist arranged the unfiled materials. The Notes and research files category primarily contains Wilzius' pre-Internet research and is arranged alphabetically. Included are inventories and collections of articles from outdoor sporting magazines and newspapers, documents and correspondence from a study of historic distribution of Kokanee salmon in Colorado, and genealogical information on Colorado's early hatchery creators, especially Gordon Land.
