1801-03-N. Executive Committee 1997, 1997
Scope and Contents
This series consists of files documenting the Colorado Water Congress (CWC) Special Project on Threatened and Endangered Species, which was begun on December 1, 1983, at the request of Colorado River and South Platte River water users. The purpose of the project was to develop administrative solutions for the Upper Colorado River Basin and the Platte River Basin that would allow existing and future water development and management activities to comply with the Endangered Species Act while preserving state water law and interstate water compacts. The files here primarily document the project's Executive Committee activities, while Series 2 and 3 focus on the individual river basins; Series 6 contains related correspondence. Files retain the order and numbering created by Pitts, which groups a mix of committees, issues, and activities under an 1801 category with further subcategorization. Materials include correspondence, agendas and meeting minutes, reports, articles, testimony, presentations, and financial information.
