40 - Water application: M - Pastures, 1952
Scope and Contents
This subseries consists of files related to irrigation projects and practices, mostly in the western United States. This was Wood's primary field, and the subjects in these files featured prominently in his professional work. Major topics are land preparation, projects, pumping, transportation, water application, and water resources. Essays, articles, reports, speeches by Wood's colleagues, and catalogs are prevalent. The subseries also includes nearly comprehensive runs of Nature and Resources (1965-1971), Arid Zone (1958-1964), and The Johnson National Drillers Journal (1940-1958). Arrangement is according to Wood's "Reference material filing key," which is a numbered alphabetical list, with related folders not noted in the filing key interfiled alphabetically by folder title.
