Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series contains reports, minutes, correspondence, grants, and other documents created by the Faculty Improvement Committee (FIC). The FIC, originally called the Self-Improvement Committee, was established on December 2, 1918. The committee initially promoted self-study or graduate study for faculty, and it later became involved in academic freedom, appointment, promotion and tenure, retirement, and sabbatical and special leaves. The committee's name was changed to the Faculty Improvement Committee on June 3, 1947, and the committee was abolished in the spring of 1996 after its duties were reassigned to other university organizations. Materials are arranged alphabetically.
