 File — Box: 1, Folder: 8
Identifier: Subseries 1.3

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

This subseries documents Barry's work as a lawyer for the Micronesian Legal Services Corporation (MLSC) out of their Marshall Islands office. Established in 1970 as a government-funded legal service project, the MLSC provided to low-income people free legal assistance concerning civil matters. Starting in 1972, Barry worked on a variety of such cases, ranging from divorce and child custody cases to those related to the rehabilitation and clean up of Bikini and Enewetak atolls following the 1940s atomic testing. The predominant material types here are memos and letters, most of which were written by Barry and concern work matters ranging from office equipment to legal cases. Some also document family and personal matters. Files are arranged alphabetically by folder title.
