Denver Water, 1990-2011 and undated

 Sub-Series
Identifier: Subseries 1.6

Scope and Contents

Barry became manager of the Denver Water Department in January 1991 and was about to retire when he died unexpectedly in April 2010. Materials in this subseries give only limited documentation of Barry's nearly twenty years of leading a large water utility after the Two Forks Dam defeat and with the challenges of drought, increasing populations to serve, and environmental battles. However, the correspondence, newsletters, and performance evaluations give a glimpse into Barry's leadership, goals, and accomplishments. Files also document some of his activities, as well as admiration by employees and colleagues. Files are arranged alphabetically by title.
