Papers, 1898-1902 and 1920
Scope and Contents
This series contains the few textual items in the collection. There is one folder of letters regarding acceptance or regrets to a Lawn Party invitation, mostly written to W. M. Wiley, general manager of the Great Plains Water Company, from businessmen around the country. There is also a letterpress book of the outgoing letters of Thomas Berry, chief engineer for the Arkansas Valley Sugar Beet and Irrigated Land Company, who was based in Lamar. The letters, often to colleagues at the company, other engineers, or suppliers, discuss the engineering of dams and canals in the system in detail. A 1920 newspaper article about cows completes the series. Materials are arranged in chronological order.
