Hobbs out of office meetings, 1990
Scope and Contents
Justice Hobbs was actively involved in legal, water, and educational organizations, as well as with speaking and teaching. This series contains the documentation of these activities. Hobbs made presentations at most of the conferences, seminars, and workshops included here, and his speeches may be printed in full in the proceedings. His poems are scattered throughout. Files are grouped alphabetically by organization, committee, or conference name and either chronologically or as found therein. The exception is the general files found at the beginning. Files documenting the start of the Colorado Foundation for Water Education are followed by drought files, as the 2002 Colorado drought had impact on that organization's beginning. Files for the predecessor organization, the Colorado Water Education Foundation are also here; some of these were given to Hobbs by fellow water lawyer Dick Bratton, who had been highly involved. The files for the Wright Paleohydrological Institute show Hobbs' activities at Mesa Verde with Ken and Ruth Wright. Material types include correspondence, agendas, proceedings, minutes, reports, and conference packets.
