State of Washington v. State of Oregon, 1930-1936
Scope and Contents
This subseries contains three sets of materials. The first, labelled with EWN (Energy-Water Nexus), is a small set of state laws and Supreme Court cases related to water rights conflicts. The second is a set of Special Masters reports in original actions in the U.S. Supreme Court and related materials. Sherk began the compilation for a project at the University of Dundee, Scotland. The cases all relate to interstate water conflicts, including on the Arkansas, Canadian, Connecticut, Delaware, North Platte, Pecos, Potomac, Republican, Vermejo, and Walla Walla rivers. Case files mostly include legal proceedings, discussions, and Sherk's work notes. The third is a small set of CapWIN (Capital Wireless Integrated Network) files, which concern a proposed interstate compact among agencies and jurisdictions in the National Capital region related to communications among first responders. Beyond the distinct sets, files are in no particular order. Materials with early dates are generally copies rather than original documents.
