Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

This subseries contains letters that Walker wrote to his sister, Alma, while in Germany, Army basic training, and Vietnam. Some postcards are included. Walker's letters to his sister are more detailed accounts of the war. Letter #30 discloses the event leading to being awarded the Bronze Star. The letters to his sister from Vietnam are photocopies. One letter is addressed to Walker's mother by Lt. John T. Roswick inviting her to attend Walker's graduation from basic training. A folder containing a letter from Alma to Walker's daughter, Emily, describing the letters is at the beginning of the subseries. The original order, mainly chronological, is maintained.
