A description of miscellaneous hydraulic structures, volume II - figures. A paper presented at the Convention of the American Society of Civil Engineers held in Phoenix, Arizona, April 10-15, 1961, 1961
Scope and Contents
This small series consists of reports, notes, and conference papers authored by Tipton, as well as his thesis concerning water supply for Climax Molybdenum. A folder of biographical notes at the beginning of the series provides context for and explanation of the entire collection; it includes Tipton's memoir authored by Kalmbach for the ASCE, notes Tipton dictated to Jincy Tipton, a Who's Who article for 1966-67, a resume, and lists of Tipton's professional activities. The series contains two field books. Tipton created the first while he worked as irrigation engineer for the San Luis Land and Cattle Company before college, and the second is a personal book which contains sayings and quotes Tipton collected. Two reports Tipton wrote as a private consultant--one on Independence Pass (1932) and a memorandum on the Indus River Basin for the Government of Pakistan (1953)--appear here. The series also contains a paper and associated materials on hydraulic structures presented to the ASCE in 1961. Materials are organized alphabetically by title.
