Visual materials, 1950-1951 and undated

 Series
Identifier: Series 4

Scope and Contents

This series contains glass slides and a film. Predominately, the slides depict several of Tipton's consulting projects in Colorado, Central and South America, and Asia, though a few family photos are present. They are 1.5 x 4-inch stereoscopic glass slides, created with a Stereo Realist camera popular in the 1950s but now rare. The undated 16mm film on the Rio Magdalena was most likely created as part of Tipton's consulting on an irrigation project for the Department of Bolivar, Colombia, in the 1950s, though Tipton's role in the film's creation (if any) is unclear. The slides are arranged in alphabetical order by group title; the film is listed last.
