Scope and Contents
The Papers of Carl Levine consists of documents dated 1921 to 2002. Materials primarily consist of scripts of his plays and research material. Other materials present are faculty records, manuscripts, and journals with articles written by Levine. Posters and one photograph are also included.

Box 4 consists of one manuscript, one professional paper, articles authored by Levine, and drafts of novels. The manuscript is of a study Levine completed that was supported by a research grant from the National Institute of Mental Health, "Helene: A Fence-Jumper's Story: A Study in Communication". The paper, Literature and Social Relevance, was presented at the 1969 annual meeting of the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association. Drafts of Levine's novels are included: Beginning Again, God Made Greensville, and To Hans, With Love.
