#2 Empire construction papers, 1906-1910

This subseries contains indexed files from the filing boxes of the Montezuma Valley Irrigation District and the Montezuma Valley Irrigation Company. The folders retain the assigned numbering, but the subseries is alphabetized instead of in numerical order. The index created by MVIC is located at the beginning of the series. The series does not contain all of the folders listed on the index, only the folders received from the Company. Conversely, there are folders in the series that are not listed in the index and do not have Company assigned numbers. The papers include a wide array of topics covering the District's and Company's operations. Although the documents are not comprehensive in any way, they reflect what the Company saved and how they organized the papers. Subjects covered include water usage, bond and stock sales, and contractual relations with companies and towns. Material types include letters, invoices, legal documents, plat maps, contracts, notes, statements, petitions, and receipts.
