Water development and utilization in the valley of the Cache La Poudre River, 1956 May

 File — Box: 2, Folder: 3
Identifier: Subseries 2.1

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

Simons regularly taught courses on erosion and sedimentation (CE 716) and river mechanics (CE 717). This subseries contains many of the handouts and references he used, as well as some of the problems and examinations he prepared for class. These folders remain in the order found, with a numbering system on the folders that seems to relate to the bibliography in the first folder in the subseries. The files are followed by a bound volume of course materials for CE 813, Potamology, which is heavily annotated. At the end of the subseries are materials related to miscellaneous classes, including some independent studies he supervised, as well as to some of Simons' teaching experiences beyond his normal courses. These include a course for the Federal Highway Administration on rivers and highways, a course in Peru on advanced hydrology and water resources, and the National Science Foundation's Summer Institute in Fluvial Geomorphology that Simons directed in 1967 and 1968. The latter group of files contains information related to the participants as well as correspondence, textbook lists, reports, brochures, financial information, and course outlines. Files of applicants and refusals were not retained.
