Wheatland irrigation district - Platte County, Wyoming, 1949

 File — Box: 8, Folder: 3
Identifier: Series 2

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series consists of engineering reports, groundwater reports, and data related to irrigation, ditches, and other water-related projects. It is subdivided into state categories organized alphabetically; within each category files are organized chronologically. During processing, the archivist used each report's original creation date to determine chronological order, though most reports were updated through the 1970s and 1980s. The reports focus on potential lending areas including water districts, irrigation districts, and canal companies. They include financial information including debt history and repayment history, information about the type of crops grown on the land and their respective yields when applicable, as well as whether the area has telephone service, electricity, good roads, maintenance and other physical conditions. The purpose of the reports is to determine whether or not the bank finds the cooperative a good candidate for long-term loans and to convey the engineer's recommendations.
