This subseries contains the bulk of NPIC's engineering documentation, including plans, specifications, drawings, reports, correspondence, contracts, and more. Much of the information relates to rehabilitation done in the 1980s, but there are also 1912 system status reports. Also here are limited sets of engineer's monthly update reports and annual dam inspection reports. Materials are organized alphabetically by folder or category title. Within categories, files are arranged chronologically. Most of the files contain folded oversize materials. Many files are restricted because of the presence of detailed documents related to facilities.

The following materials are open only to NPIC and its representatives: those dated post-2004; those subject to attorney-client or other privilege; payroll records, tax records, and records containing social security numbers or tax identification numbers; and materials containing construction plans, engineering work, and related supporting documents in connection with ditch, reservoir, and dam facilities. Third parties wanting access to these materials may seek written authorization from NPIC. Additionally, the collection is stored off-site, so advance notice is required.
