This series documents NPIC's many relationships with other organizations, including associated lateral companies, consulting firms, and government agencies. The organizations best documented here include the Mountain Supply Ditch Company and the Box Elder Ditch and Reservoir Company (sometimes written as Boxelder), both of which merged with NPIC. Also well documented is the Cache la Poudre Water Users Association. NPIC was a member of the CLPWUA, an organization dedicated to protecting water rights in the Poudre River and its tributaries, and various NPIC directors over time served on the board. Material types include legal documents, financial documents, meeting minutes, correspondence, reports, and data. Files are organized alphabetically by title. Some are restricted because of attorney-client materials.

The following materials are open only to NPIC and its representatives: those dated post-2004; those subject to attorney-client or other privilege; payroll records, tax records, and records containing social security numbers or tax identification numbers; and materials containing construction plans, engineering work, and related supporting documents in connection with ditch, reservoir, and dam facilities. Third parties wanting access to these materials may seek written authorization from NPIC. Additionally, the collection is stored off-site, so advance notice is required.
